| PAST ISSUE # 100 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Why did God create animals? Answer: God created animals so that they can provide humans with food, help, companionship and enjoyment (Genesis 1:26). For example, we, humans eat chickens and drink cow's milk for food. We use sheep's wool for our sweaters and goose feathers for our pillows. We use horses to ride and pull our carriages. We have dogs and cats to keep us company. We have peacocks, butterflies, giraffes, dolphins and other wonderful animals to remind us that God is a wonderful Creator (Acts 14:17; Romans 1:20). Since God created such wonderful animals for us, we should take good care of them. We should not abuse, torture or kill them for fun. The current environmental problems of endangered animals and deforestation could have been prevented if humans learn to take care of God's creation. Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful animals you have given to us. I am amazed by the beauty and complexity of Your creation. Please teach me to appreciate Your creation, and remind me day by day that You are the Creator of heaven and earth. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen. Last words... "May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 115:15) Next |
