| PAST ISSUE # 104 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Should I still see a doctor or take my medicine if I have asked God to heal my sickness? Answer: Yes, in addition to prayer, we should still consult our doctors and take the medicine they have prescribed to us. It does not indicate a lack of faith on our part if we choose to consult a doctor and take medicine for our sickness. God uses doctors and medicine to make us well (2 Kings 20:7). However, we should remember to seek God first when we need healing for our sickness or injury (1 Chronicles 16:12). Related topic in Issues # 103. Key Bible verses: Luke 10:34; Colossians 4:14; 1 Timothy 5:23 Prayer of children: Dear Lord Jesus, please heal my sickness. Please bless the doctors, nurses and medicine which will make me get better. Thank You, Lord Jesus. Amen. Prayer of parents or educators: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the Great Physician who heals all diseases (Psalm 103:3; Matthew 4:23). I commit (name of sick child) into Your loving hands. Please heal and restore him/her to good health. Please give the doctors and nurses Your wisdom so that they will be able to make (name of sick child) better. Thank You, Lord Jesus, I trust that You will be sovereign over (name of sick child). Amen. Last words... "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33) Next |
