Questions Kids Ask About God

Question: Should I still see a doctor or take my medicine if I have asked God to heal my sickness?

Answer: Yes, in addition to prayer, we should still consult our doctors and take the medicine they have prescribed to us. It does not indicate a lack of faith on our part if we choose to consult a doctor and take medicine for our sickness. God uses doctors and medicine to make us well (2 Kings 20:7). However, we should remember to seek God first when we need healing for our sickness or injury (1 Chronicles 16:12). Related topic in Issues # 103.

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the Great Physician who heals all diseases (Psalm 103:3; Matthew 4:23). I commit (name of sick child) into Your loving hands. Please heal and restore him/her to good health. Please give the doctors and nurses Your wisdom so that they will be able to make (name of sick child) better. Thank You, Lord Jesus, I trust that You will be sovereign over (name of sick child). Amen.
