| PAST ISSUE # 122 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Is it a sin not to go to church? Answer: The Bible tells us to come together with other believers (Hebrews 10:25). If we choose not to go to church, we will miss a lot of wonderful things such as hearing God's Word, worshipping God with other believers, having fellowship with other believers, being ministered or counselled, etc. The Bible also says that we should keep the Sabbath day holy (Exodus 20:8-11). Despite the fact that Christians no longer observe the Jewish Sabbath, it is still important for us to keep a day of the week for God (Issue # 109). Christians normally dedicate Sunday as a church day for a special time to worship God, hear His Word, and fellowship with other children of God. Therefore, we will be going against what the Bible tells us to do by not going to church. Related topic in Issue # 30 & 108. Key Bible verses: 1 Corinthians 5:4 Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me a church to worship You and hear Your Word. Please help me to honour You by dedicating a day of the week for You. Please also deepen my desire to seek You and spend time with You. I ask all of these in Jesus' name, Amen. Last words... "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy." (Exodus 20:8) Next |
