| PAST ISSUE # 123 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: How do I respond to my friends who say that Christians are a bunch of bigots who hate anyone who is different? Answer: You should tell them that it is not true that Christians hate anyone who is different. Christians love everyone because God loves us first (1 John 4:19). God also teaches us to love our enemies (Luke 6:27-35). Even though, Christians may love the sinners, we hate their sins or evil deeds (Psalm 97:10, 101:3; Proverbs 8:13, 13:5; Romans 12:9). Therefore, Christians are strongly against things or activities which are evil to God, e.g. adultery, the occult, etc. We tell sinners to turn away from their wicked ways so that they can be saved (Acts 3:19, 17:30). Do you also know that rejecting Jesus is a sin (Luke 20:17-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:12; Hebrews 3:12; 1 John 5:10)? Therefore, we should also tell such people to repent and be saved. Key Bible verses: Leviticus 19:17; Matthew 11:19; Romans 5:8; 2 Thessalonians 3:15 Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. Please cleanse me of my sins and help me to be the person that You want me to be. Please also give me the wisdom and boldness to tell those who are in sin about the truth and Your love for them. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen. Last words... "Remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins." (James 5:20) Next |
