Question: Who are the Jews?

Answer: The Jews are a race of people chosen by God (Deuteronomy 7:6, 14:2). They are descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Psalm 105:6, 135:4; Isaiah 41:8-9). Since Jacob was renamed "Israel" by God, the Jews are also known as the Israelites (Genesis 35:10; Exodus 1:7). Most of the people mentioned in the Bible are Jews; e.g. Moses, David, Daniel, Jonah, Matthew, Peter, Paul, and our Lord Jesus. The Old Testament talks mostly about God's plan for the Jews and His relationship with them.
