| PAST ISSUE # 134 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Who are the Jews? Answer: The Jews are a race of people chosen by God (Deuteronomy 7:6, 14:2). They are descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Psalm 105:6, 135:4; Isaiah 41:8-9). Since Jacob was renamed "Israel" by God, the Jews are also known as the Israelites (Genesis 35:10; Exodus 1:7). Most of the people mentioned in the Bible are Jews; e.g. Moses, David, Daniel, Jonah, Matthew, Peter, Paul, and our Lord Jesus. The Old Testament talks mostly about God's plan for the Jews and His relationship with them. Key Bible verses: Genesis 12:1-3; John 4:22; Romans 9:3-5, 11:1 Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the Jews and Your love for them. Please bless the Jews so that they will always put their hope and salvation in You. Please also bring peace to their nation, Israel. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen. Last words... "O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption. (Psalm 130:7) Next |
