| PAST ISSUE # 136 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Is it alright for Christians to hate the Jews because they killed Jesus and persecuted the church? Answer: No, it is wrong to hate the Jews. We should love the Jews as God loved them (2 Chronicles 6:14; Ezra 3:11). God loved the Jews that He sent His Son, Jesus to save them (Matthew 15:24; Romans 1:16). It would also be wrong to hate the Jews because Jesus was a Jew (Matthew 1:1; Revelation 22:16). In the Bible, there were also many Jews who became Christians (John 8:31; Acts 14:1, 17:12), such as Peter the fisherman, Matthew the tax collector, Paul the Pharisee (Philippians 3:4-11), and Joseph of Arimathea, a member of the Jewish Council in Jerusalem (Mark 15:43; John 19:38). Therefore, not all of the Jews killed Jesus or persecuted the church. Related topic in Issue # 134 & 135.
