| PAST ISSUE # 143 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Why do we call God, our Father? Answer: We call God, our Father because He created us and we are considered His children (Deuteronomy 32:6; Malachi 2:10). Jesus commanded us to pray by saying, "Our Father in heaven..." (Matthew 6:6-9). The apostles also call God, their Father (Galatians 4:6; James 1:27; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 3:1; Jude 1:1). Key Bible verses: Psalm 68:5; Isaiah 63:16, 64:8; John 8:41-42 Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that I can call You my Father. Thank You for loving and looking after me. I love You very much. As You are my Heavenly Father, I also want to remember my earthly father. Please bless and protect my father. Please help me to honour him as You have commanded. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen. Last words... "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, 'Abba, Father.' " (Romans 8:15) Next |
