Question: What priestly powers and privileges do Christians have?

Answer: As priests of God (1 Peter 2:9), we have the following powers and privileges:

• We can pray to God through His Son, Jesus (Ephesians 3:12).
• We are made holy and righteous because our sins are cleansed by the blood of Jesus (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 8:12).
• We are given God's wisdom (Ephesians 1:17; James 1:5).
• We are God's messengers (Mark 16:15; 2 Timothy 4:17).
• We can intercede on behalf of people who are in need (James 5:16).
• Anything we bind in Jesus' Name will be bound in heaven (Matthew 16:19).
• We have Christ's authority over evil spirits (Mark 3:15, 16:17).
• We can heal the sick (Mark 16:18; 1 Corinthians 12:9).
• We are given spirituals gifts to build up the church and glorify God (1 Corinthians 12:7-10).
  

Therefore, let us exercise our priestly powers and privileges to give glory to God.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to use my priestly powers and privileges for the glory of Your Name. Please remind me to always live a holy and righteous life which is pleasing to You. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
