| PAST ISSUE # 99 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: If God is love, why does He send people to hell? Answer: Although God is love (1 John 4:8, 16), He is also a just and holy God (Psalm 9:8; Revelation 21:27). This means unrepentant sinners and those who reject His Son, Jesus must be punished (Luke 10:16; John 3:18; Revelation 21:8). If God did not punish such people, He would not be a just and holy God who is worthy of our worship. Related topic in Issues # 19, 39. Key Bible verses: Matthew 18:14, 21:33-41; Luke 15:11-32; John 3:16-17, 36; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 5:5 Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for demonstrating Your love and grace when You died on the cross for my sins. Thank You for being patient and merciful with me as I humble myself and ask for your forgiveness. Lord Jesus, please teach, equip and empower me with Your Holy Spirit to become a powerful witness of Your love and mercy to the unsaved. Amen. Last words... "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) Next |
